Gray House

Year: 2013
Location: City of Buenos Aires
Argentina

This "L" shaped construction was conceived as an annex to the main house, with the interior of the lot as the center of the project. The volumetry begins at the concrete walls of the perimeter fence, and the folded roof becomes the main façade, with a large south window that illuminates the interior space and connects to the garden. The street front is more neutral, interrupted by an imposing ginkgo tree that creates a courtyard. Functionally, the annex concentrates the recreational and health uses, highlighting a water mirror and a dining room with grill, with a contrast between the dark gray exterior and the white interior, interrupted only by a large teak-paneled furniture-countertop.
