Civic Center of the City of Buenos Aires

This project proposes the relocation of the Civic Center of Buenos Aires to a site with historic buildings to be preserved, and new buildings to be built as well. The design takes as a starting point the existing buildings, of various styles and sizes, which "impact" the site like drops of water in a pond, generating concentric circles that represent the size of each one. These waves spread across the terrain, defining the geometry and location of the new volumes, whose curve creates an iconic image that alludes to the park-like character of the complex, making the spaces between the buildings fluid. In this way, the proposal articulates the existing and the new, following the forces of implantation of what was already present.
