The Marq building is strategically located in Buenos Aires and has an iconic presence, impregnated by the strong identity of its railway architecture. For its expansion, a light, metallic, vaulted building, reminiscent of the vaults of the Retiro train station, has been proposed, relating to the existing building but without touching it, accentuating the tension that unites them. Likewise, the linking of the site with its context has been reflected upon, taking advantage of the opportunity to connect it with the recent winning project of the city's Convention Center and turn it into the prow of a large unified park. The new pavilion is a blind shell that opens only to the central cypress tree, illuminating its sun-protected interior and visually connecting it with the exterior expansions, while the surrounding deck concentrates outdoor activities.
