Arredondo Building

Area: 1500 m2
Status: Built
Year: 2007
Location: City of Buenos Aires
Argentina

This corner apartment building is located on a small 12x12m plot next to a plaza and railway tracks, with its volumetry conditioned by local regulations. The design focused on the façades, resolved with a continuous concrete element that folds at the corner. Each floor presents a variable composition of solids and voids, giving each apartment a particular relationship with the plaza. Balconies at the ends act as a transition with the neighbouring buildings, accentuating their lightness. Overall, this project reflects an exploration of innovative solutions to the architectural challenge of a corner building.
